In Sea Returners (2019) , Tu hopefully translates the meaning of diligence into photography.

The sense of diligence is reflected in the movements encountered in a fishing village located in central Vietnam, Phan Thiet. Tu has been to Phan Thiet for few times and has photographed thousands pictures there. This project was conducted during the summer 2019 when Tu came back to Vietnam from Canada for a home-coming vacation.

Tu has appreciated for the hardworking - ness from the people there. Tu named them as Sea Returners. The sea fishing in Vietnam is a difficult and dangerous job due to the lack of modern technological boats as well as the high - risk tropical storms happened many times a year. Vietnamese owes a hard - working spirit that could lead them to pass through every hardships.

In these photographs, the viewers would notice an unfamiliar small, oval - shaped boat called "thuyen thung" in Vietnamese. The boat was idea - borrowed from the coracles originally discovered in Wales. During the French Colonial Era in 19th century, there were many taxes were introduced, one of them was the tax on owning a boat. Many poor Vietnamese fishermen could not afford for the additional charge; as a solution, the fishermen were working day by night alongside with the craftsmen in order to create an alternative cargo, "thuyen thung". The boat became one of the Vietnamese traditional boats.

In Sea Returners, the images and scenes selected are depicting the daily activities in the fishing village where men are loading seafood from big cargos into smaller  cargos which are "thuyen thung" in order to easily transfer them onto the shore; while women take responsibilities of selling the seafood to the dealers, restaurants and also visitors.
